Wisdom and Guidance
As we await the coming of Christ this Advent, today’s readings show us that we await His wisdom. Without it, we can be like the children in the marketplace in today’s Gospel, saying and doing things that don’t make any sense because of our limited perspective.
Through the prophet Isaiah in today’s first reading, God says, “I the Lord, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go.” Jesus came to lead each of us on that way, because He is the Way to the Father.
If we listen and follow His guidance, we can be transformed into the river described in today’s first reading and Psalm: with its source in God, flowing full with His grace, bringing life to all.
