LITURGICAL MINISTRIES
Through these ministries the laity in our parish community participate in and enrich our liturgical experiences. If you are feeling called to find out more information or join one of these ministries, do not hesitate to send an email or call the Parish Office today!
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God at weekend and weekday liturgies. By skillful use of a well-modulated voice and clear diction, the lector interprets the living word of God for the gathered faith community, capturing their attention so that they may listen with the ears of their hearts and respond in faith to what they have heard.
Music Ministry
Church musicians are called to draw others to Christ through the beauty of music. The Church has amassed a treasury of sacred music over the centuries, and the St. Bridget of Sweden Parish Music Ministry utilizes both new and old music from this treasury each and every week. Since every Mass participates in the eternal, heavenly liturgy, we strive to provide liturgical music that is worthy of this great calling.
Parish Decorating Committee
Decorations are intended to draw people to the true nature of the mystery being celebrated. As we come together as a family of faith we strive to celebrate the beauty that surrounds us in everyday life. Natural flowers, plants, wreaths and fabric hangings, and other seasonal objects are used to enhance the primary liturgical points of focus.
While seasonal decorations are maintained throughout the entire liturgical season, the ornamentation of a church should contribute toward its noble simplicity. The intention is to foster the instruction of the faithful and the dignity of the entire sacred place. The use of living flowers and plants serves as a reminder of the gift of life God has given to the human community.
