SPIRITUAL MINISTRIES

If you are feeling called to find out more information or join one of these ministries, do not hesitate to send an email or call the Parish Office today!

Ministry of Praying Hands

A community of knitters and crocheters who meet once a month (first Friday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Father Frisbee Hall and the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Bridget Parish Hall to pray and create prayer shawls for those suffering in any way.  These shawls "...wrap, enfold, comfort, covet, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify." (Bristow, 1998).

The ministry has also expanded to provide new mothers with a shawl at the time of their baby's baptism, a baby coverlet for the newly baptized baby as well as providing handmade scarves for those in need at the Pregnancy Care Center, Carolyn's Place in Waterbury.  All levels of knitters and crocheters are welcome to be a part of this ministry. Consider sharing your prayer time and creative talents with us.

Our Lady's Rosary Ministry

In this world with so much occurring, we offer prayer to Our Lord and Our Lady, for special intentions, for our country and our needs.  We welcome all new members.  This ministry consists of The Children's Rosary, prayed by the children, at 4:00 p.m. the first Saturday of each month in Saint Thomas Becket Church, and the Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle which is prayed by adults on Monday nights starting at 6:30 p.m. in Saint Thomas Becket Church.  The Rosary is also prayed after daily Mass.

Prayer Line

The Prayer Line Ministry is available for all those in need of prayer and support.  We also welcome anyone interested in becoming part of the Prayer Ministry.   We know that life is hectic.  You want to volunteer, but are not sure how.   This ministry is something that you can do from your house, your office, or in the car.   All we ask is that you pray with us to lift up the specific intentions submitted.  Prayer requests and requests to join the ministry can be submitted online through our parish website or via email to StBridgetPrayerLine@gmail.com.
